Die Stadt Husum hat das Areal für den Bau eines neuen Natur-Dorfs namens "Destinature Dorf" umfunktioniert. Der Umbau wurde 2022 begonnen und soll bis 2024 abgeschlossen sein. Das Projekt umfasst rund 120–140 Übernachtungseinheiten (u.a. Tiny Houses, Sommerhütten), ein Bio-Bistro, einen Wellness-Bereich mit Naturbad und moderne Sanitäranlagen. Die Stadt Husum bleibt Eigentümerin des Geländes. Derzeit befindet sich das Areal in der Bauphase.
